Start A Fire – Lil Wayne (feat. Christina Milian): Song of the Day 11/24

So far on the journey towards the release of Tha Carter V, Lil Wayne has spent the majority of spitting hard-hitting rhymes aimed at his loyal fans. But with his latest single which debuted last night during the AMA’s, Weezy goes after the radio to “Start A Fire”.

Now the sixth track dropped by Wayne to be found on the fifth installment of Tha Carter series, “Start A Fire” has a clear mission. Spur on some serious radio airplay. And between the sensual chorus from Christina Milian and Wayne’s catchy bars, “Start A Fire” should really ignite the hype for V.

Off Day – Lil Wayne (feat. Flow): Song of the Day 11/13

With so many tracks recorded for Tha Carter V that he had to delay the album and then split it in two, it was only a matter of time that we heard from Lil Wayne again. This time around he is bringing in a new name from his Young Money crew for a “Off Day”.

Combining flows from his old Hot Boyz days and his new school autotune, Lil Wayne really feels like he’s coming into his own on “Off Day”. And with a high energy effort from Flow, “Day Off” could be a nice fit on Tha Carter V when part one is released in December.

Gotti – Lil Wayne (feat. The Lox): Song of the Day 10/29

In true Lil Wayne fashion, Tunechi informed everyone that The Carter V would not be dropping on October 28. Despite the delay however, Wayne did decide to give his fans some new music to hold them over until December in the form of “Gotti”.

When Wayne announced that the fifth installment of Tha Carter would be coming in October, it was almost a given that we wouldn’t be seeing it until months later. And while listeners are firmly acquainted with push backs from Weezy, bringing The Lox out of the woodwork to join him on “Gotti” should make the extra two months worth the wait.

Only – Nicki Minaj (feat. Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown): Song of the Day 10/28

She has been riding high on her highest charting single to date. But now it is time for Nicki Minaj to put “Anaconda” behind and continue pushing towards The Pink Print the “Only” way she knows how. With yet another hit.

With her album’s first two singles taking care of her pop-crazed fans, it was time for Nicki to take care of the hip-hop crowd. With “Only” she did just that by bringing in Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown to join her in creating one huge track which will hold over listeners until The Pink Print‘s December release date.

About The Money (Remix) – T.I. (feat. Young Thug, Young Jeezy & Lil Wayne): Song of the Day 10/24

He released his album Paperwork on Tuesday but T.I. is waisting no time to drop new music not included on the project. This starts with the official remix to his album’s star track which now features a couple more huge names.

Not only does the “About The Money (Remix)” bring back the dynamic duo of T.I.P. and Young Thug for another round but the King decided to give the track even more bunch with a couple more MC’s. Both Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne provide bars for the remix which T.I. hopes will spur even more buzz for his ninth full-length.

Take Kare – Young Thug (feat. Lil Wayne): Song of the Day 10/16

He’s already spoken of continuing the Carter series after Lil Wayne retires and has hinted at multiple collaborations with Tunechi. But up until today Young Thug has yet to join Weezy on a track. That all changed with the release of “Take Kare”.

Set to be featured on the second Rich Gang collaborative album, “Take Kare” might just be the first step in Wayne passing the touch to Thug. But with no date set on Weezy’s retirement, “Take Kare” serves as more of an obvious example of how Wayne has influenced this up-and-coming MC.

F**k Yo Feelings – The Game (feat. Lil Wayne & Chris Brown): Song of the Day 10/6

After the tracklist from Year of the Wolf was revealed, there were all sorts of collaborations fans were looking forward to from The Game. One of the biggest brings together three of the names who will be dominating the music scene for the rest of 2014 on “F** Yo Feelings”.

The Game, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown have all worked together on hits in the past and on “F**k Yo Feelings” they are looking to do it again. While Weezy’s hook is slightly underwhelming, Game and Breezy both drop dope bars to heighten this standout track.
