Besides the head-scratching absurdity which was DJ Khaled‘s dialogue in the original “Hold You Down” music video, the rest of the R&B star-studded track was spot on. But as with any track which takes off for Khaled, a remix is always waiting.
After having four of the hottest crooners in the game grace the original, the “Hold You Down (Remix)” is all about the MC’s. And while Rick Ross, Ace Hood and Fabolous provide verses for the track, it is Usher’s brand new chorus which shines through on the “Hold You Down (Remix)”.
J. Cole spoke. Then it was G-Unit. Now it’s The Game who is making his feelings known about the death of Michael Brown. But he is not alone as Game has brought in a lengthy list of MC’s to raise their hands and say “Don’t Shoot”.
With the impact of the events of Ferguson capturing the nation, it is no wonder the list of rapper on “Don’t Shoot” is prolific. Joining The Game on a track which mixes “Be Free’s” heartfelt emotion and “Ahhh S**t’s” aggressiveness is Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Diddy, Fabolous, Wale, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, Problem, King Pharaoh and TGT who all have their own points-of-view on these trying times.
While his role on tracks is still questioned by most, DJ Khaled continues to find a way to bring mass amounts of talent together. For his latest single he does it again but on the R&B side to “Hold You Down” until his album drops.
Featuring four of the biggest names in the R&B game today, “Hold You Down” certainly will draw fans in with this much clout on one song. Chris Brown, Jeremih, August Alsina and Future intermingle throughout the track while Khaled does his usual chirping in the background but even his random spurts cannot ruin “Hold You Down”.

Cars, clothes and cribs are all things of which DJ Khaled has plenty. However, it is his flaky following which he seems to have issues with as he divulges in his latest single “They Don’t Love You No More”.
The first release of yet another upcoming alum from Khaled, “They Don’t Love You No More” follows the same formula which has made Khaled so successful. The production is hot and the features are plentiful with verses from Jay-Z, Meek Mill, and Rick Ross along with a French Montana hook, “They Don’t Love You No More” should start a slue of new music from Khaled really soon.
Already with a solid following in the reggae/dancehall community, Mavado is now attempting to broaden his reach and become more of a mainstream artist. DJ Khaled is pushing this transition very hard as he allowed Mavado to take the reins on three tracks on Suffering From Success. Today’s Song of the Day, “Give It All To Me”, is Mavado’s first true mega-single.
While staying true to his island roots, Mavado’s sound is much more accessible to a wide audience on “Give It All To Me”, similar to the music J. Boog has been releasing. To boost to track’s buzz and star quality, fellow islander, Nicki Minaj, jumps on the track for an extended appearance. After being in a niche for so long, will “Give It All To Me” expand Mavado’s audience? Only time will tell.

While you can no longer count the number of years Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. have been gone on one hand, their influence is still felt in hip-hop today. It is hard not to find an artist or producer who has been not been influenced by these two legends. This includes DJ Khaled who now claims that “I Feel Like Pac, I Feel Like Biggie”.
While some listeners may quickly jump to the conclusion that DJ Khaled and his bevy of collaborators are claiming that they have the same status in the game as Pac and Biggie on this latest single from Suffering from Success, they have a different meaning of what it is to feel like these two. Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, T.I. and Diddy are all claiming they “Feel Like Pac” and “Feel Like Biggie” because of the heat they are feeling in the streets because of their success. Hopefully none of these MC come to the fate of their idols and “I Feel Like Pac, I Feel Like Biggie” stays as only a claim.

Out of the blue a few days ago, DJ Khaled to break out a gigantic engagement ring and purpose to Nicki Minaj. It is yet to be know whether this was a legit proposal but it sure got the world’s attention. Now Khaled seems to be announcing his love a little further with his latest release “I Wanna Be With You”.
The latest release from Khaled’s upcoming album Suffering from Success, “I Wanna Be WIth You” features Future and Rick Ross, but also semi-surprisingly, Nicki Minaj. It is unknown whether Nicki knew about the “proposal” before accepting to be on “I Wanna Be With You” with Khaled but it sure makes the situation more spicy.
