Earned It – The Weeknd: Song of the Day 12/23

When the first trailer of Fifty Shades of Grey was released, we were introduced to a revamped version of Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”. Now a few months later, the next track from the film’s soundtrack has dropped with The Weeknd taking over with “Earned It”.

With his own dark and sexual style matching that of Fifty Shades of Grey, The Weeknd is the perfect addition to this highly anticipated adaption. But instead of sticking to his ominous, druggy flow, The Weeknd lighten things up on “Earned It” with beautiful strings and his unbelievable voice.

Fruition – The-Dream: Song of the Day 12/22

We’re you looking for a special slow jam this Christmas to play while you cozy up next to the fire with your special someone. Well, your in luck because the the Love King, The-Dream, has returned to make all your holiday dreams come to “Fruition”.

Between his writing credentials and his own tracks, The-Dream has been apart of a plethora of successful songs made for the bedroom. Now as he returns to the scene with “Fruition”, The-Dream goes the old school route with his production while his patented falsetto shines once again.

While extravagant trips, expensive gift and luxurious meals can certainly spice up a relationship, Miguel tends to appreciate the little things more. That’s why he is savoring his fresh cup of “coffee” after a beautiful night with his woman.

The finale track from Miguel’s newly released EP NWA.HollywoodDreams.Coffee, “coffee” celebrates the successful progression of his relationship to something much more than just sex. And while the extravagance of celebrity relationships isn’t relatable to most, “coffee” in the morning connects Miguel to all of his listeners.

While her singles have been climbing the charts and earning sales, Nicki Minaj‘s The Pinkprint is more about the deep cuts which make this the best work of Minaj’s career. She clearly understands this as well, giving four of these tracks the time they deserve on “The Pinkprint (Short Film)”.

An all original, 16-minute cinematic journey through Minaj’s emotions, “The Pinkprint (Short Film)” shows the growth in this lady’s game. Highlighting four of the most personal tracks on her album, “All Things Go”, “The Crying Game”, “I Lied” and “Grand Piano”, “The Pinkprint (Short Film)” hides nothing and brings the viewer deep inside the real Nicki Minaj.

nwa – Miguel (feat. Kurupt): Song of the Day 12/19

After achieving huge success with his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream, one would think Miguel would be eager to return to the studio for round three. But since 2013, Miguel has been relatively quite until surprising listeners with “nwa”.

One of three tracks included on the free EP NWA.HollywoodDreams.Coffee, “nwa” brings back the sultry sound Miguel which has been severely missed during his hiatus. Kurupt joins Miguel on the track to appropriately add the old school west coast vibes to “nwa” and bring the sounds of Miguel back in big way.

Let Me Thru – T-Pain (feat. Lil Wayne): Song of the Day 12/18

As a combo, T-Pain and Lil Wayne created some of the most massive hits of the last decade. Between “Can’t Believe It” and “Got Money” these two stirred up the possibility of a joint album. While that never happened, T-Wayne is back with “Let Me Thru”.

The next submission to the T-Pain comeback train, “Let Me Thru” rekindles the flame between these two hip-hop veterans. And while they have not collaborated nearly as much in the past few years, “Let Me Thru” shows that their hiatus has not effected T-Wayne’s chemistry.

Ayo – Chris Brown & Tyga: Song of the Day 12/17

When the first Fan of a Fan dropped in 2010, the mixtape served as a breakthrough project for Tyga and a return to power for Chris Brown. Now nearly five years later the dynamic duo is back with “Ayo”, the first single from their long awaited sequel.

Originally planned to be released in January, “Ayo” comes a couple weeks early as a Christmas gift for fans who have been waiting a long time for Fan of a Fan 2. Despite the four year layoff, Breezy and Tyga’s chemistry is palpable still on “Ayo” which will serve as a nice tease of what’s to come from these two.
