While the raw emotion and realness is one of the main reasons fans have fallen in love with The Weeknd, one of the main criticisms of his music is that he rarely picks up the pace. Although Kiss Land follows the success of Trilogy‘s haunting tones, The Weeknd does switching things up a couple times on. This is especially seen when Pharrell takes over the production on “Wanderlust (Pharrell Remix)”.
Yet another hit made in the hands of Pharrell this year, “Wanderlust (Pharrell Remix)” shows that The Weeknd does have a lighter side. While he may be more comfortable in the shadows, this joint has The Weeknd sounding more like his idol, Michael Jackson, than ever before. To think that with the combination of these two geniuses would produce anything less than “Wanderlust (Pharrell Remix)” is just plain silly.
