It is hard to imagine it has been over a decade since the untimely death of Aaliyah. A pioneer to R&B, Aaliyah was killed in a plane crash in 2001. However, her presence in the game has never left.
Now two albums deep, Drake, who has already confessed his love for Aaliyah, has decided to help create Aaliyah’s second posthumous release. The first track “Enough Said” was released only days ago and has had the music world buzzing.
Unlike many of Aaliyah’s previous hits, “Enough Said” is not produced by Timbaland or Missy Elliott. Noah “40” Shebib, notably Drake’s main producer, handles the production for this joint, bringing along his patented underwater synth flow.
Aaliyah’s voice shines on “Enough Said” and Drake’s verse, however explicit it may be, provides deep emotion.
